Worlds colliding seems to be a theme lately. I guess when you are a dancer turned photographer this will happen and I love it.

Tani and I have been connected for a long time through the dance world. I was so happy when she told me she was pregnant and honored when she said she would like me to capture her. She is so full of life and love and we had many belly laughs throughout the session, no pun intended… maybe.

She wanted to make sure that her first babies, rescue pups, were included in the shoot as well. So we started the session at her husband’s parents house. I love capturing people in places they spend time in and that they feel at home at. The pups were super cute and as you can see Bubu really loves the camera. We played, we laughed and we captured the sweetness that is between them.

Unfortunately Tani’s husband Kirk was not feeling well, so it was just Tani and I that headed to the next location, Los Penasquitos Canyon. This was not our original location. I arrived into San Diego about two hours befor I was schedule to meet Tani so I could scout the location. When I arrived at our original location, i knew it wasn’t special enough so set out on the search for a better one. This is why I always arrive early, especially when it is not my familiar locations. Thank goodness for Google and Waze because I was able to discover the beauty and diversity of Los Penasquitos Canyon.

Tani chose to wear two of the dresses from my client closet. This is something I offer my clients to help make all parts of the session easier. The copper “Athena” dress from Chicaboo Maternity was the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. I love that it is convertible from flowy and pulled up for a relaxed feeling to pulled down and out for that beautiful wow factor. The other dress is also from Chicaboo Maternity. The cream colored “Poppy” dress was perfect for the small stream we came upon. Tani was adventurous and was willing to get into the water. Other than a mysterious small creature that ran over her foot, both mama and dress came out of the water the same way they went in, lovely.

I am excited to capture your sweet babe when he is earth side Tani. Thank you for your beauty, grace and laughter.
